For the third year, in a
row, the ever fast and furious Rotary Club of Torrance ran away
with another decisive victory. Second place finishers were Long
Beach Rotarians; followed closely by the Redondo Odd Fellows. Torrance Rotary, AKA Team Fury posted another impressive win by finishing a full seven laps ahead of their closest competitor. As the tires heated up, so did the intensity of the racing. The drivers were extremely close; with second and last place separated by a mere 2.5 seconds.
Following the race, all drivers and their entourage adjourned to the Go Cart World banquet room to celebrate; pizza and beer style. Two of the hardest working raffle ticket salesman ever handed out some pretty nifty raffle prizes; which included a 50/50 cash prize and an actual racing slick from the car of Paul Gentilozzi. After the awarding of the Rotary Centennial Cup, several clubs vowed to return to next year and take the trophy home. Is that a challenge?
Congratulations to all who attended and thanks for making this fundraiser such a fun event
