Club Service is the foundation of each Rotary club in which each member takes an active part in making the club function, such as serving on committees, proposing individuals for membership, and meeting attendance requirements..  Overall it fosters the successful administration of the organization.  On an individual basis it requires that every Rotarian actively support the activities of his/her club and becomes involved in providing Service above Self.

Some Club Service activities and programs are:

l     Club Assembly – On an “as needed” basis, assemblies are conducted to focus on club activities and programs.  The club reviews upcoming projects to solicit more involvement from members.

l     Club Bulletin – Weekly newsletter are published to capture the content of each week’s meeting.  The newsletter is also a forum to education members and non-members on “What is Rotary”.

l     Club Website – Portal where the public can learn more about our club, our activities and programs, and Rotary on the district and international levels.

l     District Events – Club participates at District Assembly, District Conference, District Breakfasts, District Picnic, Presidents Dinners, and other events where we can join in fellowship with other Rotarians in the District.

l     Family of Rotary – Events in which family members of Rotarians are involved, such as the Demotion Party in June, District Summer Picnic, the Holiday Party in December, the Rotary Rose Parade float, club fundraisers, etc.

l     Fundraisers – The club’s major fundraisers each year are the Chili Cook-Off & Classic Car Show, Christmas Auction at Bruno’s, and Rotary Grand Prix.

l     Joint Meetings – Our goal is to meet with other clubs in the District once a quarter to build fellowship and support among the clubs in the area.

l     Membership – Prioritize the attraction of new members and retention of current members.  Conduct membership drive contest with the eventual goal of five new members each year.

l     PRLS – District leadership training seminars focusing on basic public speaking, effective meetings, goal setting, communications, leading with vision, your Rotary club and you, and The Rotary Foundation.

l     Rotary Image – Encourage local news media to promote Rotary events and to broadcast special Rotary messages.

l     Speaker Programs – Each member is responsible to schedule a speaker to speak on a topic of interest or importance.
