One of our members, Roy Carroll, who passed away in December 2004, once put his feelings on “What is Rotary” into words to remind us all how a true Rotarian views his life and his service to the community.

Roy wrote:

“In the home, it is kindness;

In business, it is courtesy;

I
n play, it is fairness;

In our club, it is cooperation and fellowship;

In the community, it is service;

In international relations, it is sympathetic understanding and goodwill towards the fortunate, it is congratulations;

To the unfortunate, Rotary is compassion;

To the weak, it is help;

To the patient, it is forgiveness;

And toward God, it is reverence and love."

Rotary is the talent of experts working together for the betterment of mankind.  Very briefly, Rotary is doing something for someone, somewhere.  I believe in Rotary and I am proud to be a Rotarian!”

We thank all of our past and present members for their commitment to service.
